In addition, the children have Music, Computer, Art, Library and Physical Education classes once a week.
HOMEWORK There is approximately 1 1/2 hours of homework per night. Each student should spend at least 15 minutes a night studying Science and 15 minutes a night studying Social Studies (even if no specific homework is assigned). This will enable them to be prepared for chapter tests.
Parents must sign the assignment book each evening indicating that homework (written and study) has been completed.
TESTS
Tests will be sent home every Monday. Upon review, parents are to sign the tests. If there is a question, please attach a note (or write on the test paper). Please return the tests to school on Tuesday. All signed tests are kept in a student folder until the end of the trimester. (Old tests are very helpful in preparing for final exams.)
Independent Reading
Reading at home for 15 minutes a day is essential. Your help and support in encouraging the daily reading is greatly appreciated.
